Skitour Gran Paradiso, 4.016 meters, Italy, Aosta-Valley

A well known and fascinating skitouring peak: The Gran Paradiso with its 4.016m elevation is one of the highest peaks of the Graian Alps and the only four-thousand-meter peak standing completley on italien soil. The whole area belongs to the italian Gran Paradiso National Park. The route of this ski alpine tour goes up the glacier of Gran Paradiso (Ghiacciaio del Gran Paradiso) before we reach the ski depot a few meters below the summit; in easy climbing (level of difficulty II) and over some breezy spots on the ridge we finally reach the white "Madonna"-Statue. The hut Vittorio Emanuele II/ 2.732m offers great italian food and of course delicious cappuccino and espresso - enjoy the italian alpine flair!

1st day Arrival in Valsavarenche
Meeting point is at 6 p.m. in the evening at Valsavarenche in the Hostellerie du Paradis
Dinner and overnight stay

2nd day Rifugio Vittorio Emanuele II / 2.732 meters 
After breakfast transfer to Pont (in your own car, 5 min.); ascent to the hut Vittorio Emanuelle II.
Ascent 800 vertical meters, estimated time 2 - 3 hours, dinner and overnight stay

3rd day Gran Paradiso / 4.061meters
Start around 7 a.m.; ascent to the peak via the glacier of Gran Paradiso (Ghiacciaio del Gran Paradiso) before we reach Schiena d'Asino 3500m, Becca di Montcorve 3875m and finally the skidepot a few meters below the summit. Climb to the summit (level of difficulty II) over the exposed ridge, secured with crampons and icepicks until we reach the top at 4.061meters: A gorgeous view is awaitung us!
Ascent 1300 vertical meters, ski descent 2100 vertical meters, in total 6 hours, farewell around 2 a.m.
